The decision workflow: decisions and proposals

Depending on his/her rights, an editor can either propose or take a decision on a version.

Technically, a proposal has the following consequences:

  • message from the editor to his parent (EIC), notifying that a decision has been proposed
  • record of the proposal in the decision module
  • change of the article status --> Decision proposed
  • the parent editor (EIC) becomes current editor

    While a decision does the following:

    • message from the editor to the author
    • record of the decision in the decision module
    • change of the article status (accepted/rejected/revision in progress)
    • the current editor does not change
