Accessing the decisions
Once expected reports are received,received on a version, the article will switch to 'Waiting editorial decision'.
This unlocks new actions related to editorial decision:decisions:
Proposals and decisions
Depending on your profile rights, you may propose or take a decision.decision on a version.
- Proposing a decision will return the
articleversion to your parent editor (who becomes current editor of the article) - Taking a decision will send the editorial decision directly to the author
The recommandation system
There are three decision groups:
- Acceptance / Propose acceptance
- Revision / Propose revision
- Rejection / Propose rejection
Depending on the journal and your profile, each group will offer different choices.choices (recommendations).
Typically for revisions, you will have the choice between requesting a minor or a major revision.
Sending the decision
Clicking on the recommandation will pop-updisplay the decisionmail module:pop-up.
From here, you may edit your decision before sending the message. If you have gathered referee reports, they will be automatically inserted into your message.

Checking the decision
Once it is sent, your decision is stored on the article version for archival purposes.
If
forRejectany /reason Requestyou Revisionneed /to Acceptchange =the decision, you can revert it. This will put the article back to ‘waiting editorial decision’ and you can choose another decision. All these actions will be documented and stored in this case, you will send the decisionhistory letter directly to the author.tab.
Submit an editor report
Additionally, before taking a decision, you may upload an editorial report on a version.
Similarly to referee reports, their purpose is to store lenghty comments and enclosures, independently of the official decision.
