Dashboards, colored counters, statuses


Nestor dashboards offer a quick overview of the journal activity, sorting articles by status and counting them.

  • Red counters sum up articles where the due date is exceeded
  • Green counters sum up articles where the due date is not exceeded

Standard dashboards

Usually, every editor has access to:

  • The saved searches area, which contains links to your favorite searches.
  • The most important personal dashboard, listing the articles you are in charge of (click here for details).

Special dashboards

Additionally, and according to your profile rights, you may have access to

  • A list of all articles sorted by status (more relevant for Editorial Office staff)
  • A list of all articles sorted by editors (usually used by Editors-in-Chief);

Status explanation of status


In all dashboards, the workflow has been divided into functional steps (who is working on the articles). Here is a summarized breakdown of statuses. 

With editors
Awaiting assignment Articles registered and ready to be sent to an editor
New submission Articles newly assigned, start of review process
In search of referee
Peer review starts: no referee promised a report yet
Waiting editorial decision Peer review ends:  expected number of reports received
Editorial decision proposed For EiC only: articles with a decision proposed, to be validated
Revision received Authors have submitted a revision, decision is pending
Accepted Articles being last checked before production


Sent to referees

Peer review in progress One or several referees have promised a report

Back to author
Articles failing technical check (after submission/revision)
Revision in progress Articles sent to the author for revision


Production in progress

In production
Accepted articles sent to production
Proof sent Articles expecting proof corrections from the author
